President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentine Hector Markos Timerman who has arrived to Yerevan on official visit.
The President of Armenia noted that despite the geographical distance, relations between Armenia and Argentine have always been particularly warm and sympathy and mutual trust between the two nations were in existence long before Armenia’s independence. Serzh Sargsyan underscored that Armenia is ready to further deepen relations with the friendly Argentine and expressed hope that Minister Timerman’s visit to Armenia will give a new impetus to the development of the Armenian-Argentinean relations and further strengthen the bilateral ties.
According to Minister Hector Markos Timerman, Armenia is not just a country for Argentine; it’s a friendly state whose history commands respect. The Minister assured that the Argentinean people wish to deepen cooperation with Armenia and that his government has necessary capabilities to do it.
The interlocutors praised the Armenian-Argentinean cooperation in the framework of the international structures, expressing readiness to work towards further rapprochement of the positions of the two friendly states in that format.
President Serzh Sargsyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentine spoke with admiration about the Armenian community of Argentine which enjoys great respect and stressed the significance of the community’s role in the strengthening of the bilateral ties.
The parties exchanged views on the regional issues as well as on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
