President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sent a letter to BSEC conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the organization. In the letter is said:

I heartedly congratulate all of us on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Black Sea Economic Cooperation organization. During the last years the organization managed to resist time trial and overcome international and regional many challenges. Economic initiatives planned and implemented in the framework of the organization are favorable for economic development of the region at the same time stimulating the peace and harmonic existence of the region’s nations. I am sure that continuous joint efforts and political will are necessary in order to complete the mission of the organization. Now we speak about the new and comprehensive economic agenda of the organization which is directed to increasing the role of the organization in the region as well as to stimulation the social-economic development of member states.

I reconfirm that Armenia has been and continues to be loyal to the principles and aims which have been recorded in fundamental documents of the organization. I am sure the further stimulation of multi-lateral economic cooperation in the framework of BSEC in current difficult situation will make easier the political dialogue and establish regional stability.

The main backgrounds of modern economic relations are free contacts, free movement of resources and equal conditions of competition. The blockades and closed borders are unacceptable dividing lines in the map of 21st century.

Once again congratulating you on occasion of the organization’s jubilee I call the member states to make all possible efforts for development of economic cooperation and use totally BSEC potential for the prosperity of the region”.
