Welcoming the guest, the President of Armenia said in particular, “In Armenia you are always a welcome visitor. This year celebrates the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the United States, and I am glad we can state that in these twenty years our relations have been developing, moving upward and today they are on the highest level in their history. Certainly, history of our peoples’ relations is much deeper, and I am glad we can register that our good relations have been promoted also by the relations of our two peoples, by the large Armenian-American community as well as by the ideas of liberty, justice and democracy.

I am also content that our relations have always been based on mutual respect and trust and that we can at any time speak frankly about any issue which interests either party. We highly value the role of the United States in our region.

I would like to once again express gratitude for the assistance extended by the United State to Armenia in the last twenty years. I am glad to see you, welcome to Armenia.

In the last twenty years, the United States has been working closely with Armenia. We highly value our cooperation with Armenia and will continue to support Armenia’s and its people’s development and growing prosperity.

President Obama and I highly value our contacts with You. You and I have had many conversations, and as You have mentioned, they have been very frank as it should be between friends. And I also know how hard You have been working for finding solutions on regional issues related to Armenia. So, we are looking forward to our continued dialogue. The United States is ready to support and assist Your continued work as an excellent leader.

I am also happy to see this wonderful sunny weather. We have been in the Arctic and far North and of course all Americans traveling with me are happy to see nice and sunny weather in Yerevan.”
