Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a working visit to Kanaker Zeitun district

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan started his working visit to Kanaker Zeitun district from yard areas.By the Municipality programs provided for 2012 large scale improvement is going on in Kanaker Zeitun district as well: yard areas are being improved, bowers, benches and children's playing attractions are being placed, asphalt cover in the central and secondary streets is being renewed, green areas are being refreshed.In all the yard areas the responsible persons presented the Mayor the drafts and details of development.Expressing their delight and gratitude to Taron Margaryan for well-arranged and comfortable yards the number of which is increasing day by day, the residents pointed out that they had joined the Mayor's urge with pleasure and freed the areas illegally occupied by themselves by their own initiative. These areas are to be improved and turned into recreation zones as well.The residents of the building at Sarkavagi 72 had applied to Taron Margaryan the previous year asking to include the area adjacent to their building in the program of yard improvement. Taking into account that the mentioned area had been i alienated and used to have legal owners Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to negotiate with the owner and as a result this area has become a city property and is being improved now. Soon it will become a comfortable recreation zone for the residents."As a result of negotiations the owner of the area has voluntarily resigned the property and it now it serves as public area. I am grateful to him and to all those who voluntarily free illegally occupied plots due to what we are able to improve the areas more quickly and hand them to the residents”, said the Mayor.To symbolize the direct assistance of Taron Margaryan in this issue the residents suggested the Mayor to plant in this area a tree together. The proposal was accepted. The residents have taken responsibility to care of the tree and of the area in general.The previously shabby walls in the yard of the building at David Anhakht 18 are getting bright and colourful. The theme of children’s painting is declaration of Yerevan as World Book Capital. Greeting the children’s initiative Taron Margaryan suggested them to decorate not only their own yard but also the neighbouring yards.In the context of Yerevan declaration World Book Capital the schoolchildren of the administrative district gave the Mayor a surprise greeting him dressed in costumes symbolizing books and presented Taron Margaryan a book.During the conversation with the residents within the scope of the visit the residents shared their problems with the Mayor. Particularly, was raised the issue of irrigation network in yard areas."The problems connected with irrigation network exist not only in Kanaker Zeitun district but in other districts as well. By the program of development the capital of this year in parallel with irrigation network restoration we also provided to install 16 km of new irrigation systems. Yard areas are included in this program as well", said Taron Margaryan.Within the framework of the visit the Mayor got acquainted with the process of building stairwells connecting the blind alleys of Ulnetsi street. Before visiting the administrative building of the district Taron Margaryan assessed the overground crossing in David Anhakht street put into operation in the end of the previous year. "Taking into consideration the application-requests of the residents we are building another 7 overground crossings in the capital this year. These activities will be enduring", said the Mayor.During the conference with the staff of the administrative district Taron Margaryan once again stressed the importance of personal interaction with the residents and instructed to involve them in the activities carried out in the areas. "Personal interaction with residents should be carried out every day and all the activities are to be fulfilled taking into account the opinions and proposals of the residents", stressed Taron Margaryan.
