 During the regular working conference before starting the items on the agenda the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan first of all expressed gratitude to the residents of Yerevan, to corresponding structures of the staff and to administrative district as well as to state and non-state structures for active participation in the citywide clean-up and tree planting on April 14."Due to joint, coordinated efforts we took an important step for «Green Yerevan» program. It's worth stressing that a lot of residents of Yerevan were involved in the process, both children and grown-ups who carried out clean-up and tree planting in their yards. I 'd like to express special gratitude to them for proving once again that the love to the city is not expressed only in words. I am confident that following such caring attitude we will soon have the green, clean and well-arranged Yerevan we have always dreamt of", stressed Taron Margaryan and instructed to pay special attention to the further care of the newly-planted trees.
Within the framework of external improvement of the capital, to make Yerevan more attractive and change the general environment of Yerevan, Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to start the process of cleaning, painting and improvement of the buildings of the capital, as well as the process of decorating the arcades.
It was reported that the installation of external lighting network in the streets, yard areas and parks of the capital is going to be over. By the program of Yerevan development, 168 streets and yards and 14 parks will be provided with night lighting only this year.
The Mayor was reported that the placement of benches and dustbins is going on the capital as well. Taron Margaryan instructed to increase their number in case of need. It was reported that the large road construction programs provided for this year are going on in accordance with the determined schedule. In this context Taron Margaryan instructed to set everyday control over road construction programs, over the process of asphalting keeping tight control over the schedule and the quality of work. "The control over asphalting quality is to be exercised every day not only in central and secondary streets but also in yard areas", stressed the Mayor.
During the working conference special attention was paid to the issue of equipping all the new buses servicing the routes of the capital with GPS system and Wi-Fi connection, as well as to the issue of keeping the norms of obligatory improvement and meeting the contractual obligations by economy entities. It was reported that by the Mayor's instruction the fountain complex in Republic square and the «Swan Lake» basin have already started working.
By the way, in accordance to the Mayor's instruction soon swans are to be brought to the "Swan Lake" from the Zoological garden, and the residents will have a chance to admire the swans swimming in the lake. It was also reported that the activities directed at operation of other fountain complexes to be prepared for this year are to be over in accordance with the established schedule and put into operation on May 1.
