The letter reads:

 

“I learned with deep sorrow the news on the demise of the renowned Armenian-American physician and philanthropist Vardges Najarian. 

 

Vardges Najarian was one of those national figures who together with his family members made a significant contribution to the development of Fatherland starting from the Soviet times. Programs implemented through the philanthropic activities of the Najarian family in Armenia and Artsakh are many. At the most difficult for our nation time, starting from the 1988 disastrous earthquake and up to the Artsakh liberation war, endangering their own lives, they worked in the trenches and tents, saving lives of the hundreds of soldiers, constantly supportive of Fatherland, steadfast in their determination to assist Armenia and Artsakh through their professional knowledge. 

 

Vardges Nazarian had boundless dedication and care for the Armenian Army. He was confident that the army’s strength was in good health of its troops which should be cared for also through the creation of the first-class medical services. He was living and working with this conviction. 

 

I am sure that the pain of Vardges Najarian’s loss, whose contribution to the strengthening of Fatherland-Spyur ties is immeasurable, is shared by everyone in Armenia, Artsakh, and Spyurk. Paying the due to the patriotic activities of the great son of our nation and his honorable wife Mary Najarian, years ago through a presidential decree the Najarian couple was awarded with a Second Degree Order “For Services Rendered to Fatherland”.

 

I express my deepest condolences to the family of Vardges Nazarian, his friends and colleagues. 

Let his soul rest in peace and let those who mourn his loss find comfort in the midst of grief.

 

The memories of Vardges Najarian – a great national philanthropist and a decent, diligent, wise and modest man will remain in the hearts of generations forever.
