PRESIDENT RECEIVED REPRESENTATIVES OF THE HOWARD KARAGHEUZIAN COMMEMORATIVE CORPORATION

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of Armenia congratulated the Howard Karagheuzian Commemorative Corporation on the 95th anniversary and expressed gratitude for the patriotic activities carried out by the Corporation for years in Armenia, Artsakh and Spyurk.
Noting that the Howard Karagheuzian Commemorative Corporation was among the first Diaspora organization which established itself in Armenia, thus becoming an Armenian based structure Serzh Sargsyan assessed it as an important decision. According to the President, close cooperation with the Yerevan and Stepanakert authorities allows the Corporation to define on the spot assistance priorities, to precisely evaluate the needs, making the provided assistance more targeted and find the most efficient way to do it.
The President of Armenia stressed especially the assistance provided by the Howard Karagheuzian Commemorative Corporation to our compatriots in Syria. Serzh Sargsyan wished the Corporation incessant functioning for the implementation of its patriotic mission with the anticipation that the Howard Karagheuzian Commemorative Corporation in five years will celebrated its centennial with splendor and will register even greater achievements in the second century of its existence.
On behalf of all employees of the Howard Karagheuzian Commemorative Corporation and his own behalf Michael Harutyunian thanked the President of Armenia for the warm hospitality, assessment of their work, and good wishes. Presenting briefly the 95 year-long activities of the Howard Karagheuzian Commemorative Corporation, which was founded after the Armenian Genocide, the Chairman of the Corporation assured that they will continue to work with the same vigor, doubling their efforts, especially in Armenia and Artsakh for the benefit of the two Armenian states, for the prosperity and empowerment of the Armenian nation.
President Sargsyan awarded the benefactor, Chairman of the Howard Karagheuzian Commemorative Corporation Michael Harutyunian with the First Degree Medal For the Services Rendered to Fatherland for his considerable contribution to the strengthening and development of Armenia- Spyurk relations.
The President bestowed the First Degree Medal For the Services Rendered to Fatherland also to the benefactor present at the meeting, Gevorg (George) Baghumian, who was awarded earlier for the strengthening of Fatherland-Spyurk relations as well as for his contribution to the preservation of the Armenian identity.
