Remarks by President Serzh Sargsyan at the Awards Ceremony
Dear awardees,
I once again cordially congratulate you on being awarded the high state decorations. The contribution made by each of you to this matter of national importance is indeed great. Thank you for responding to our call and supporting the events throughout the entire world.
2015 is an exceptional year for all of us. The State Commission on Coordination of the Events for the Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide has outlined and has carried out a huge range of events both in Armenia and abroad. I think there is no need to talk about the geography, large scale and quality of those events again.
My assessment is that as a state and people spread all over the world, we stood this test creditably. We managed to deliver our message in the due manner and in a truly sonorous way. We also presented ourselves to the world as a revived nation with huge potential, which walks in line with civilization. The global community could witness the decent and exceptional common stance adopted by Armenians. The process of the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide was elevated to a new, higher level.
It was made possible owing to the mobilization of forces and resources of the Republic of Armenia and all Armenians. Through our concerted efforts, we all reaffirmed the eternal truth that the unity of Armenians is able address very complex problems. And if we all get together, we will have all problems addressed.
I would like to thank everyone who got himself involved in this crucial mission. My own impression is that no Armenian in the world remained indifferent to these events, be he a benefactor or an artist, a donor and a journalists, a demonstrator or a diplomat, a volunteer or an official, a scientist or a clergyman. And we will continue as long as we have not returned the favor to the memory of our Holy martyrs.
I once again congratulate you all and wish you further success. We have not finished the year yet and even when we finish it, we will still have a lot of work to do.
Thank you.
