The Mayor of Yerevan participated in the solemn ceremony of naming a public garden in Warsaw "Armenian garden"

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margarayn who visited Poland as a member of the delegation headed by the RA President Serzh Sargsyan which is in Poland with an official visit, participated in the solemn ceremony of naming one of public gardens in Warsaw "Armenian garden".The decision of naming was made by the City Council of Warsaw as a token of century-old Armenian-Polish friendship.
Within the frames of the ceremony the spiritual director of the Armenian Apostolic Church blessed the Armenian khachkar (cross-stone), a present of the Republic of Armenia to Warsaw, placed in the square.The Mayor of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz who was present at the event, as a memory of the solemn ceremony, presented the Mayor Taron Margaryan a notice-board with “Armenian garden” engraved on it.Expressing gratitude both for the present and for the decision made by the City Council of Warsaw on naming the square, Taron Margaryan wished that God's blessing always remain with Armenian and Polish peoples.After the ceremony Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan in a warm atmosphere talked with the representatives of the Armenian community, hear out their regards and suggestions.The Mayor informed the representatives of the community that the municipalities of Yerevan and Warsaw had signed a Memorandum of Intentions which means a tighter cooperation between the two cities, and taking the opportunity the mayor suggested the Armenian community taking more active part in the projects to be implemented.
