Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Armavir marz. The President of Armenia attended the ceremony of inauguration of the newly-constructed school in Artamet community, whose groundbreaking ceremony took place on July 28, 2007 during President Sargsyan’s working visit to Armavir marz in his capacity as the Prime Minister of Armenia. The President familiarized with the works conducted in the new school, toured the classrooms and at the meeting with the schoolchildren in their person congratulated all pupils and students on the occasion of Knowledge Day, wishing them success in the new academic year. At the instruction of the President, the RA Ministry of Education and Science provided the school with ten computers.

At Vanand community of Baghramian region, President Sargsyan participated at the opening of the Noyan fruit and vegetable processing plant of the Evroterm company. The plant’s groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 13, 2012 with the participation of the President.

The management of the plant presented to Serzh Sargsyan the ongoing works at the plant and its forthcoming plans, underscored that thanks to the imported high-class equipment the quality of the juice concentrate of the plant, which is annually producing 15 thousand tons of concentrate, corresponds to the European standards. It was noted that in addition to the producing unit, there were built refrigerating storages with special thermo-insulation regimes, which will ensure not only the storage of the produce and the production in due conditions but will also allow to store fresh fruits and vegetables for their export later in time. The plant is to produce natural juices, concentrates for the baby food, as well the tomato and red pepper paste. At the conclusion of the tour, President Serzh Sargsyan invited a working meeting with the participation of the leadership of the food processing companies.

At the meeting, the RA Minister of Agriculture and leadership of the processing companies presented to the President of Armenia their problems and concerns regarding the purchase and export of the fruits and vegetables in the current year. After the discussions, the President instructed the heads of the relevant agencies to take steps aimed at the resolution of the raised issues. Serzh Sargsyan noted in particular that efficient joint activities and productive work of the state and processing companies should underlie the prospective steps which will allow to register progress in the resolution of the raised problems.
