Born on 1 June, 1957 in Kanachut villige of Artashat region. Graduated from Armenian State Pedagogical Institute named after Khachatur Abovyan and police High School by the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs with a degree in Law.
1979-1980 - served in the USSR armed forces.
1982-1986 - Shahumyan Internal Affairs Division, Inspectorate for Juvenile Proceedings, inspector.
1986-1991 - Shahumyan Internal Affairs Division, Criminal Investigation Department, Officer.
1991-1992 – Artashat Internal Affairs Division, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department.
1992-1993 - Artashat Internal Affairs Division, Deputy Head.
1993-1994 - Erebuni Internal Affairs Division, Head.
1994-1995 - Internal Affairs Department of Yerevan city, Deputy Head.
1995-1996 - Deputy Head of operations at the Internal Affairs Department of Yerevan city.
1996-1997 - Deputy Head of operations at the Internal Affairs Department of Yerevan city and Head of Criminal Investigation Department.
1999-2000 - Internal Affairs Department of Ararat region.
1998 – conferred the rank of «Police colonel».
2000 – appointed as Governor of Ararat marz.
29 May, 2008 – Head of the RA Police.
1 November, 2011 – appointed Adviser to the RA President.
Since 3 February, 2017 – Chairman of RPA Ararat territorial organization, Member of RPA Board.
Married with 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren.
