Avetisyan Sukias s/o Gegel

Born on the 28th of April, 1959 in the city of Leninakan (Gyumri).

In 1976 left with honors secondary school No. 25.

In 1978-1981 supervised the work of student groups in the Mari ASSR and the Tyumen region.

In 1981 draduated with honors from Leninakan branch of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute with a degree in civil engineering.

In 1981 he was awarded the medal of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "For Labor Honours".

 

In 1981-1982 worked as a secretary of LKYU committee of the Leninakan branch of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute.

In 1982-1983 he served in the Soviet army.

In 1984-1989 worked as a secretary of LKYU committee of the Electrotechnical Plant, head of the organizational department of the Leninakan city committee of ALKYU, first secretary of the Moscow district committee of ALKYU.

In 1988 studied at the Higher Komsomol School in Moscow.

In 1989-1990 he worked as an instructor in Leninakan city soviet of the Communist Party of Armenia.

 

In 1990 was elected a member of  Leninakan city soviet.

In 1990-1999 worked as a chief engineer of the production department of housing facilities of the executive committee of the Moscow district council of the city of Leninakan, deputy head-chairman of the housing and communal department of the executive committee of the city of Gyumri, vice-mayor.

In 1995, 1999, 2003, 2008 and 2012 he was elected as a member of National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

In 1999 and 2001 was appointed a member of the commission on construction and disaster zone under the President of the Republic of Armenia.

 

In 1999-2001 was a member of the temporary commission of the National Assembly to study the events of October 27, 1999.

In 2001 was awarded the title of full member of the International Academy of Nature and Social Sciences, academician of political science.

In 2001 established and until 2017 headed Gyumri mini-football club "Gyumri".

In 2003 was elected as a member of the Permanent Commission of the RA National Assembly on Science, Education, Culture and Youth.

In 2004 graduated from Institute of Management and Economic Transition under the Government of the Republic of Armenia, postgraduate student, author of several scientific articles.

 

In 2004 he was awarded the degree of candidate of economic sciences.

In 2003-2007 - Head of the inter-parliamentary friendly deputy group Armenia-Canada.

In 2003-2004 - Member of the temporary commission of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, studying the possibilities of restoring and compensating the savings deposits of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia in "ArmSavings Bank".

In 2004-2007 - Chairman of the Governing Council of Gyumri Secondary School No. 25.

 

In 2005-2018 - Member of the Governing Council of Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute.

In 2005-2006 - Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Social Affairs, Health and Nature Protection, since June 2006 - Deputy Chairman of the same commission.

In October 2006 he was awarded a commemorative medal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

 

In 2006-2018 - Member of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia.

In 2011-2018 Chairman of the Futsal and Women's Football Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia.

In September 2008 was elected Deputy Chairman of the Social Commission of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

 

In 2013-2017 - Chairman of the Temporary Counting Commission of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, in 2017 - Chairman of the Ethics Committee.

Since 1998 -Member of the Republican Party of Armenia, since 2008 - Member of the Council of the Republican Party of Armenia. Since 2006 - Chairman of the "Gyumri-2" regional organization of the Republican Party of Armenia, since 2018- Chairman of the Gyumri regional organization.

In 2016 awarded with the Commendation Medal of the Republic of Armenia.

June 2018 he awarded the title of Associate Professor.

 

In 2017-2018 he worked as the head of the department of general economics of the Gyumri branch of  Armenian State University of Economics, deputy director, head of the educational department.

In 2019-2021 - Acting Dean of the Faculty of General Economics.

 

Married, has got three children and five grandchildren.
