Sona Gharibyan was born on August 13th, 1969.

She graduated from the National University of Architecture and Construction with a degree in engineering and electrical mechanics.

1995-1998: worked as leading accountant in Armenian banking association

1998-2008: chief of 1st branch of the financial oversight department of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia

2008-2014: chief of financial oversight department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia. Was granted the status of 2nd degree state advisor by the President of the Republic of Armenia.

2011: member of the Board of Trustees of the V. Petrosyan School #51 in Yerevan.

She is a member of the RPA council.

Member of the Control Chamber of the Republic of Armenia since 2015.

Appointed to a six year term as member of the Control Chamber of the Republic of Armenia.

Married, has two daughters.
